asylumlaw.org was founded on March 1, 1999 with the sole purpose
of using the Internet to help lawyers and other accredited representatives
worldwide prepare the best asylum cases they can.
Every year, about half a million people around the globe seek safety
from persecution by applying for asylum in a foreign country. These
refugees are among the world's neediest people. Most of them are
in desperate need of highly trained legal advocates.
Today, the community of lawyers using this site has grown to over
5,000. We continue to rely on this group and a dedicated and experienced
volunteers to meet the information needs of asylum
lawyers and
their clients on a global level.
