Se calcula que ?si incluyéramos los homicidios que no aparecen en los medios o aquellos en los que no se especifica si la víctima es gay- la cifra anual sería, por lo menos, cinco veces mayor, es decir: trescientos cincuenta ?hate crimes? o crímenes de odio anuales: trescientos cincuenta peruanos que son condenados, cada año, a una muerte sangrienta en razón de su identidad sexual. ¿Recuerda el lector el nombre de algún político, artista o líder de opinión que haya protestado alguna vez contra esto? Demonstrators accused western countries of helping to spread the practice on the African continent.<br>The biennial conference, which is being attended by 48 heads of state and government representatives from the 53-nation club of countries formerly under British rule, will examine the issues of governance, human rights, environment and development.<br>The Ugandan government allowed officially demonstrations to be held in two places near the city centre. Several groups including the opposition and anti-gay pressure groups have taken part in the peaceful protests.<br>"Homosexuality is growing in Uganda and Africa in general. Some of our people are thriving on funding from gay activists from western nations," said one organizer of the rally, Pentecostal Pastor Solomon Male.

A non-LGBT related percussion group scheduled to perform at CHOGM has been cancelled because its performance was arranged by Amakula. Discrimination against a person because of any God-given attribute, such as sex, race, or sexual orientation, is both against the law in Uganda and a disgrace to humanity. It is love, not hatred that God commands.

This document was provided by Immigration Equality, New York, NY<br><br> The Brazilian Association of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals (ABGLT) has lodged a criminal complaint against Christian activist Julio Severo and the National Vision for Christian Awareness (VINACC) for inciting "hatred" against homosexuals, and "homophobia".<br>The complaint was made because Severo, on his website (http://juliosevero.blogspot.com), regularly denounces homosexual behavior as immoral, and opposes the goals of the homosexual movement. VINACC is also accused because it reposts Severo's material.<br>Luiz Mott, who is generally recognized as the leader of the homosexual movement in Brazil, rejoiced at the news. "We are all proud of the ABGLT for filing charges against our archenemy, Julio Severo," he was quoted as saying in a Yahoo homosexual email list. "I hope that he is condemned to perpetual imprisonment in Sodom and Gomorrah."<br>Mott is a militant promoter of the "gay rights" agenda in Brazil and an ally of the socialist regime of Luiz Lula. He is also an open promoter of the legalization of pedophilia and pederasty, a fact that Severo has helped to expose (see previous LifeSiteNews coverage at: http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2007/jul/07073011.html).

Sergeant Fernando Alcántara Figueiredo, the first Brazilian soldier known to have a homosexual relation with a colleague, regained his freedom after eight days in prison in a branch of the Army.<br><br> Figueiredo was detained in the Batallion Jail of the Presidential Guard in Brasilia, for having traveled to San Pablo without permission of his superiors, stated the Communication Center of the Army.<br><br> "I suffered extremely serious prison discipline and what I did in reality was to say that I am gay and that I live in a conjugal situation with a companion" said Alcántara Figueiredo after regaining his freedom yesterday.

On Wednesday in Paris, the organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF), condemned the murder last Sunday in Tegucigalpa, of the Honduran defender of human rights, Walter Tróchez, which reminds us that the repression unleashed by the coup d'etat in June "has not ended."<br><br>

"(December 17, 2009) On December 13, Walter Tróchez, a 27 year-old gay rights activist and member of the National Front of Resistance Against the Coup d'Etat, was shot in a drive-by attack by unknown assailants. He died several hours later in a hospital in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. According to Honduran NGOs Red Lesbica Cattrachas and Feministas en Resistencia, his is the sixteenth known murder in the Honduran lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community since the military coup on June 28, 2009. Since the ouster of the country?s democratically elected government, a climate of impunity has enabled systematic acts of transphobic and homophobic violence. Nobody has been brought to justice for any of these crimes, many of which were committed publicly. More deaths of LGBT people have likely gone unreported."

Ms Kakooza was handed over to Ugandan police by her brother when he found her with her girlfriend of five years.<br>She was then subjected to multiple rapes and branded with red hot meat skewers on her thighs by drunken police officers.<br>She said: 'I'm still receiving counselling at a rape crisis centre. 'I have nightmares every night and I don't think I will ever get over what happened to me.'<br>Ms Kakooza, who is a University graduate, was eventually rescued and smuggled from the country by a friend who bribed guards to release her.<br>On arriving in the UK she was seen at a medical centre where doctors were shocked by her horrific injuries and called the police.<br>She said: 'I was taken to hospital and tested for Hepatitis B and Aids. 'Thankfully, I'm in the clear but it was a worrying time.'<br>She added: 'I really want stay in this country and work. 'I have a degree in English Literature and I would love to be able to teach.'<br>Ms Kakooza said that she often thinks of her girlfriend who was also jailed.

Dr Solomon Gafabusa Iguru said condom use promotes immorality.
Condom use is one of the strategies that the government encourages in the fight against HIV/ Aids spread. Others are abstinence and faithfulness.<br>The national HIV prevalence rate is 6.2 percent.<br>Iguru was speaking as chief guest during the commissioning of St. Thereza Catholic Parish in Mugarama Sub-county on Sunday. During the function, forty couples received holy matrimony.<br>"Condoms have encouraged people to become prostitutes" he said.
He said people engage in illicit sex on the premise that condoms protect them from contracting sexually transmitted diseases and attaining unwanted pregnancies.

The Attorney General (AG) yesterday asked the High Court to halt the activists' case by allowing him to appeal the procedure used to file it.<br>The AG's representative, Ms Susan Adong asked court to dismiss the case.<br>Ms Juliet Victor Mukasa, a 32-year old gay rights activist and Ms Yvonne Ooyo, a 24-year old Kenyan, sued the AG for alleged violation of their right to privacy, personal liberty, and the right to freedom from torture, inhuman and degrading treatment as provided in the Constitution.<br>However, the AG opposes the suit, saying the aggrieved used a wrong procedure to file the case. Homosexual activities are illegal in Uganda and if court rules in the duo?s favour, it would bring a new legal regime.

It is regarded by some as satanic and un-African.<br>However, the Gay and Lesbian Coalition of Kenya (GALCK), an umbrella body of gay and lesbian groups, and which has brought together colleagues from across the continent to share experiences, is hopeful that after the WSF, this perception will have changed.<br>"After the WSF, we expect that Kenyan's and Africa's views on homosexuals will be transformed forever, and that they will view us with a new eye," Pauline Kimani of GALCK told IPS.<br>"We are saying we exist and that we are part of the society. We want to be treated as people because we are people, we are human beings living in the same world," she added.<br>"Leading a homosexual life in Kenya is not difficult when you are in the closet. The problem is when you open up. When girls learnt that I was a lesbian, they feared sitting next to me; they thought I would hit on them," Kimani, a university student in Nairobi recalled.

Los casos son en su mayoría de Antioquia , Santander, Risaralda y Magdalena. Muchas de las víctimas, llama la atención un informe de la Fiscalía, eran hombres "en incapacidad de resistir"; esto es, con limitaciones físicas o mentales.<br><br>

The District Attorneys have received 37 complaints from male and 379 from female victims of sexual violence. The cases are for the most part in Antioquia, Santander, Risaraida and Magadalena. Many of the victims, brought to attention by an informant in the District Attorney's office, were men, "without ability to resist," that is to say, with physical or mental limitations.
