While the vast majority of the information on asylumlaw.org is open
to the public, we maintain some information of particular interest to
lawyers and advocates involved in the direct representation of asylum
seekers. Due to the nature of this information, our users have requested
that it be shared only among such lawyers and advocates. The registration
process allows us to disseminate this information while respecting its
confidential nature.
Information made available to registered users is NOT intended for asylum
seekers. We are working on a separate registration scheme that will
allow asylum seekers to register confidentially so that their case may
be directed to the proper agency in the asylum seeker's intended country
of refuge that may be able to help them. Unfortunately, we are not yet
able to implement this system. In the meantime, we encourage asylum
seekers to first check
our resources specifically designed for them. If those pages do
not answer all your questions, please use the feedback
page to direct questions to us. In your request please be sure to
indicate: (1) the country you are fleeing; (2) the country (and city)
in which you intend to seek asylum; (3) the country you are in right
now and when you arrived there. We will make an effort to direct your
inquiry to an appropriate lawyer or advocate in the area in which you
intend to seek asylum.
Registration is FAST, FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. During the online application process, we request that you provide us with certain information that we will use to evaluate
your application. If you have already registered, and you have forgotten your password, use our Password Finder.
Users affiliated with ELENA---the European Legal Network on Asylum---should click here to apply. These applications will
be reviewed by staff of the European Council on Refugees and Exiles.
All other users should click here to apply. These applications will be reviewed by the staff at asylumlaw.org.
